Gumer Alvero is President – Insurance & Annuities. Gumer is responsible for the leadership of our ���������� Insurance and Annuity product lines. He oversees the end-to-end client and advisor experience including product development and management of inforce products, funds/investment management, sales and distribution, marketing and new business, and ongoing service operations.

Gumer has been with the company more than 30 years, most recently as Executive Vice President and General Manager for both ���������� Insurance & Annuities. Prior to that, Gumer held a variety of roles within Ameriprise Financial, including:

• Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Annuity Products Group, 2006 – 2021
• Vice President and Managing Director, Annuity Products Group, 1998 – 2006
• Executive Assistant to President/CEO of American Express Financial Corp., 1996 – 1998
• Program Director in the Financial Institutions Group, AEFC, 1994 – 1996
• Financial Analyst roles across Corporate Planning and Analysis, Mutual Fund Product Group and Retirement Services, 1989 – 1994

In addition, Gumer holds several board of director roles: Chairman and CEO of ���������� Distributors, Inc.; Chairman, President and CEO of ���������� Life Insurance Co. of New York; Chairman and President of ����������. He also serves on the board of directors for the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI).

Gumer holds a Master of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree, both from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
